Privacy legislation GDPR

As hirers, SaverIT customers must also have permission from employees to use their biometric data for identification purposes. SaverIT uses a camera for facial recognition or the palm of the hand and we have a fingerprint scanner. Our solution complies with the guidelines of the GDPR privacy legislation.

Free choice

The employee has the free choice whether or not he wants to use the possibilities of his biometric data or whether he chooses to use an RFID chip (the droplet). In a legal sense, the RFID chip is a reasonable alternative to the use of biometric data.

Facial recognition camera

If the camera for facial recognition is used, the employee gives his manager permission for the use of his biometric data. The approval and the time at which the approval was issued are stored in the Administration Portal. The employee places a digital signature for approval.

Fingerprint scanner

When logging in to the tablet with fingerprint scanner, employees are offered the choice between fingerprint scans or an RFID chip. The selection time is logged in the Administration Portal.

RFID is a reasonable alternative

The employee must therefore give explicit permission for the use of his biometric data. Due to the above method, employees are not obliged to use their biometric data and the GDPR privacy legislation is complied with. As reported: in a legal sense, the RFID chip is a reasonable alternative to the use of biometric data.

Measuring employee temperatures

The GDPR does not apply if only the temperature is read and nothing else is done with it. SaverIT signals the temperature, but does not register it in an automated system.
